Ferienpark Kreidesee rents out cosy holiday homes and flats at the popular Kreidesee diving paradise in Hemmoor, which is known far beyond the borders of the country. With a hard-working team, we make sure that everything is ready for your relaxing break at the lake. You can contact us daily from 9:00 to 17:00 in person, by phone or email. We always have an open ear for our guests and are happy to give tips on leisure activities, shopping facilities or restaurants in the area. We look forward to your enquiries and your visit!
How did it all begin?
Originally there was a cement factory on the site. Until the 1970s, chalk and clay were mined here for cement production. Cement from Hemmoor can be found in many well-known buildings, such as the Atlantic Hotel or the university in Hamburg, the Reichstag in Berlin, but also in buildings in Cameroon, Chile and Argentina. There is even evidence that the base of the Statue of Liberty contains cement from Hemmoor. After the plant was decommissioned, a huge crater remained, which gradually filled with water. The chalk lake was created. The first holiday homes were built on the site in 1999. Over the years, more houses were added. Around 40 houses have now been built on the site and it resembles a small Scandinavian village. The old administration building has been given a new lease of life with 17 cosy holiday flats. You will also find our reception there.
